Departing from a small nomadic encampment of the Leson de Ohrm, the party ventured closer to  the grand shade lines into the vast, ever-moving expanse of the Black Sand Desert (iron out this name). Their mission was clear: locate the missing search party that had vanished without a trace.

For over a day, they navigated the treacherous dunes, skillfully avoiding the worst of the midday storms, where winds howled like distant wraiths and the very sands seemed to tremble. Yet, an eerie undercurrent unsettled the journey—the entire desert, grain by grain, was shifting northward, as though drawn by an unseen force.

As dawn broke, (Character Name) observed sand gliders crawling to the top of the dunes were they were attacked and suddenly devoured by small, sinuous coil worms, their razor-lined maws striking with deadly precision. Seizing an opportunity for sustenance, the party hunted a few of the creatures, cooking them over a makeshift fire before pressing on, tracking faint distant sounds just beyond the dunes.

Their pursuit, however, led them into a deadly ambush. As they crested a dune, the sand beneath them collapsed in a violent cascade, revealing a monstrous Dune Maw—a titanic, four-meter-wide predator lurking just beneath the surface, waiting to snap shut upon unsuspecting prey. With terrifying speed, it opened its maw, ensnaring one of the party in its jagged grip.

A brutal battle erupted, sand flying as weapons clashed against the creature's hardened carapace. (Add fight details here: magic flaring, blades slicing, desperate struggle, etc.) With a final, desperate strike, the Dune Maw fell, its massive form sinking into the shifting sands.

Wounded but resolute, the party pressed on toward the source of the noises, their adrenaline-fueled urgency driving them forward. Cresting another dune, they stumbled upon a ruined camp, its tents shredded, belongings scattered, and unmistakable drag marks leading deeper into the desert. The fate of the missing search party was grimly evident—they had been taken.
